so much to cover here, whywould you sign benning for 2 years at 2 mill if your gonna just not play him. Trade him and use the 2 mill wisely. Slepy for 2 mil, damn that crazy. I get that he had a good season in the khl, but he's worth at the most 1.5 mil. and puljujarvi is done with oilers, he basically told the team he doesnt want to play with them. And why did ya keep jujhar"the ultimate pylon" khaira over Chaisson. Doesn't make sense because chaisson at leasts contributes on the power play

Russell cannot be sent to the AHL. His NMC precludes such a move.

Benning can shift in and out of the lineup with injuries and such. Slepy had a good year in the K and 500k is very minimal in difference when it comes to contracts. The Oilers might be Puljujarvi’s only option if he wants to play this year. Not to mention, anyone can do what Chiasson does on the PP, screening the goalie is by far the easiest job on it. Khaira provides a solid 4th line presence and can kill penalties, Chiasson can’t. The Oilers have a surplus of players who can be the screener, the Oilers have very few non star players who can kill penalties.

For khaira, you can get a cheaper player that can be way faster and kill penalties better than khaira. Putting Puljujarvi on the ifrst line is a terrible team, plus he most definitly alienated his teammates by saying he doesnt want to play with them. You can trade benning and put lagession in his place

Pretty sure Khaira has the 2nd best GA/60 of any regular penalty killer in the league.
