Brodin is entering the last year of his deal and will be a UFA and want a raise. Minnesota should be rebuilding. They also already have 3 defensemen signed long term at over 21 million a season combined.

Samuelsson was only drafted in 2018 (32nd OA) and just captained the USA World Juniors team and was signed to his pro contract last week. Its also not a 1 for 1 trade.
