Fair trade, but man, maybe the worst group of D in the league.

Defense is weak I agree, however, a player like Carlo can come out of nowhere and have a Parayko effect with less offense. Otherwise, there is a ton of cap space to go and add a Russell or another verteran d man.

Even if the trade is fair in a vacuum, Calgary has plenty of centre depth, especially if they want to start playing Bennett at centre like he should be. Krejci will push a good player into a role he shouldn't play. McQuaid likely doesn't have a roster spot since Wotherspoon has been given a QO; it just seems like a cap dump. Finnally, this adds nearly 10 million dollars to the Flames, which even accounting for some AHL burying may make it difficult to get Monahan on the type of long-term deal Flames fans would like. Take McQuaid out of the trade and hold some salary for Krejci, then the Flames may be able to do this trade.

Yeah that Bruins defense is going to give up a slaughterfest like they did at The United Center this year, except it'll be that bad every other game. To be fair though, Torey Krug is a fuckin' stud, but that defense is incapable of competing at an NHL level. Sorry.

    Also, isn't 4.5 a bit low for Marchand, who's asking 7?
