Borgen is the type of prospect that if he had played for the Marlies for the past 2 years you'd see him traded with Kapanen for Pietrangelo 100 times a day.

The leads get the 38th pick in the draft which is 15 picks higher than their first pick in this years draft and they get a cost controlled right shot d who can play in their bottom pair or be their 7th d man.

We're a contending team so we don't need picks. And we already have a 7th defenseman

Just for argument's sake, you can always flip the pick in another deal so the "we don't need picks" argument is lazy.

Still, if I'm the Leafs I'm not taking this deal. I'd be looking for cheap D help that has already shown something in the league.

Don't even know what to think about the Strome trade so the lack of outrage probably means it's in the ballpark.
