UHHHHHHHH. I really don't know. I just don't think it is good for both teams. You really shouldn't trade Merkley and leaf's really need Robertson for next year.

No thanks. I like Merkley alot and would perfer to hold on to him as the sharks have spent a lot of time. Also some leafs fans think Robertson is the next Crosby when really hes just a good prospect

I agree, but also its pretty unlikely Robertson is ready for the show next year. Maybe 2021-2022 if everything keeps going smoothly

Well we know he's not the next Crosby so I didn't treat him like that (Unless we think Merkley is the next Orr grimace)

I know he's great and could be able top play in our top 4 as soon as the 21-22 season, but we have a good core of defensive players. The only way we could give him top 4 minutes is if we trade Karlsson or Burns. Trading Karlsson is next to impossible, and the only way that we could get rid of Burns is if Seattle takes him which I could see possibly happening.

Well I mean it fits both teams need pretty well. Usually I'm not into trading one great prospect for another, but this seems to all just work perfectly. This could go down in history as one of the worst trades if either prospect fails to perform in the NHL, but if anything it's more risky for us given Merkley has played a lot more than Robertson and there's been reports that Merkley has fixed his attitude and the stats show he's getting better defensively.

P sure Seattle takes Burns from us, unless they need Jones for some reason

Lmao I just realized Merkley has played with Robertson before.

Yep, Merkley only spent about half a season there though

I mean I hope they do. He could be good for marketing or whatever since he's such a popular name and face in the NHL. Strategically it probably doesn't make much sense though. They don't have to take Jones or Burns though either.
