I think we should wait before trading Juulsen. He looked good in Laval when he came back from a 1 year break

Johnny Boychuck is not what we need. We could use that money in other places, too.

I would think Habs would be better off using Cap space by « helping » another team in taking and overpaid goalie. MB would kill 2 birds with one stone... Allen in STL comes to mind, but I'm sure there are others...

It's not about Boychuk, it's about taking a cap dumb in order to get a decent prospect in Kieffer Bellows and upgrade a pick

It could happen, but Allen isnt exactly a cap dump a there will surely be a team willing to give assets for him which is not the case for Boychuk and Sutter

You're 100% right on Allen NOT being a Cap dump... But still, we can imagine that some teams - including STL - will be facing cap situations ranging from '' Oh well '' to '' We're F**ked '', depending on the actual cap... But there's also the CBO thing... Will there be freebies? Will teams be able to flush bad contracts without any penalties?

i don't know that juulson has any value until he puts together a healthy season. he's only played 80 games total since he was drafted 3 years ago. that's a lot of development time to miss. he really needs a strong season this year.

He's just there to balance the contracts. The main point is to acquire Bellows and upgrade a pick while taking Boychuk as a cap dump

He's had a very good season in Bridgeport and was decent when called up during the season. He's not projected to be as good as he was supposed to be but he remains a good middle 6 option.
