Keep It Simple *
Minimal trades to free up enough cap to sign their own RFA's and UFA's. Trades for picks to replenish the pipeline. Suggest Wallinder @50 and Jurmo @64.
Thornton would be awesome at 4th line centre and maybe teach the goat a thing or two. IMO Shattenkirk is better then Barrie and makes a good partner for Rielly.

people just wanted him in a role that he wasn't suited for - it wasn't his fault management couldn't bring in good defensive D men to pair him with. From day one everyone knew he was an offensive guy, that he'd put up big point totals but shouldn't be relied on heavily for defence on any pairing, and what do they do? Give him 1.5 seasons of experience Dermott and zaitsev.

Shattenkirk doesn't want to play in Canada He'll get more then that probably in the 3m to 4m range perhaps.
