The league isn't going to do a CBO with a flat cap, So give up that notion right now. Cap would need to drop $10 to $20 million for there to be CBOs. Noway Murray is taking a 1 x 4.5 mill deal and if Vegas could afford Murray then they'd just resign Lehner and try and move MAF.

Fleury is getting toward the end of his career and contract so my rationale was Vegas would line up a successor. I feel like already acknowledged this reality when they acquired Lehner, but I feel Lehner will get more money and term as an UFA elsewhere this summer. Murray is still under team control as an RFA for one more season so he doesn’t get a lot of choice in the matter - thus, he signs a one year contract that takes him to UFA next summer and can negotiate with Vegas during the season. If they extend Murray, next summer for expansion they protect Murray and expose fleury, knowing Seattle won’t select a 38 year old goalie with one year left.
