3 way Eichel to Vegas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BStinson</b></div><div>VGK would want Eichel with Karlsson as a top 6. Strome isn’t a PPG center by himself unless Breadman is coming with him. Also Georgiev has very little value in the grand scheme of things. It’s easy to acquire a FA goalie and better ones we’re just traded for little return. VGK should just deal with Buffalo alone.</div></div>
Do they have the cap space to have both Karlsson and Eichel? When I looked last they were only a hair under the cap and that’s with Tuch’s contract on LTIR. If he’s part of the Eichel trade, they can’t take that exception. Smith’s 5m off only offsets half of Eichel’s contract. It seems like someone else has to go.
I’d rather the Rangers let Buffalo and Vegas figure it out themselves and focus on Dvorak from Arizona, but I wanted to run the numbers on this as a plan b.

3 way Eichel to Vegas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Club_de_Hockey_le_Canadien</b></div><div>I'm confused by New York's role in this, it would make more sense for a Vegas-Buffalo trade and then New York trades with each team.</div></div>
NY adds another piece (a piece Buffalo could really use) to the standing Vegas offer. NY gets Karlsson which allows Vegas to get under the cap after taking on Eichel. Vegas gets a year of Strome who isn’t a drop off from the centers they’ve been skating recently. Buffalo probably wishes they got more young assets - Smith and Tuch don’t seem to fit for them but I’m going off an offer that has been widely reported.

I don’t think Strome at a point per game or Georgiev is junk. If Buffalo had that offer from Vegas, why haven’t they accepted it?

As though they should ever care about salary retention with that squad they run out. The longer they wait and the uglier it gets, the more leverage they lose. I think the package would be Jones rather than Miller but added Miller and the extra pick as a way to get the salary retention so we can extend Zibanejad next summer also. I think Kuznetzov or Dvorak might be the wiser play here, though. I’m sick of trading for other teams malcontents.

Drury is the worst
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RebelCoach</b></div><div>I just could see NYR going for Kadri if they really want a counter to Tom Wilson.
COL should trade Kadri because they simply can't trust him come the playoffs. One more bad move and he's out over a series of games. How do you enter the playoffs after a choke job last year and the window being right now?
For NYR, they just want to make the playoffs, and Dolan has them on a kick of trying to be the tough guy on campus.</div></div>
I thought about Kadri. Might be worth a shot but dealing with Sakic is as bad as Yzerman.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aecliptic</b></div><div>So in this situation we end up remaining the worst (possibly even worse than last year) defensive center core and faceoff team in the league.
Secondly, assuming Kakko gets his ELC bridge contract... you wont be able to resign Zib or Fox.</div></div>
There is 22m in space next summer to sign Mika, Fox, a backup goalie and 3 bottom 6 forwards in my proposal. Fox and Mika probably combine for 18-19m. So it’s close but not impossible. Not sure I’m interested in extending Mika anyway…
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jwg314</b></div><div>I’ll bet you Blais has a good 10 years left in the league, don’t know why you’re so down on him. I see him progressing similar to Coleman.</div></div>
Guy was a role player for a playoff run led by a great veteran core. Cant stay healthy and doesn’t score. He’s already 25 and bangers rarely last past 30. Yeah, I’m down on him. He’s a replacement level player. We have Phil Di Guiseppe that does the same thing - it’s fun to watch but not really a unique or rare commodity.

Drury is the worst
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RebelCoach</b></div><div>Do you want the Kuznetsov trade or are you thinking that is something Drury would do...?</div></div>
I don’t really want kuznetsov but I think given the position the owner has put us in, he’s one of the better options for improving the team right away. It’s way better than dumping Buch and not adding something that can help now (or overpaying for Eichel) which is where we are now. To answer your question, it’s my idea for what I would do, not what I think that idiot Drury is going to do.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeastModeUnknown</b></div><div>Buch deal isn't a disaster. Yes it's leaning towards the blues and you guys overrate his value as a first rounder, but in all honesty. Samuel Blais is one of the better power forwards the Blues have. Blais hits like a freight train and gets in the dirty areas. You can utilize him as a 200 foot player. It's not like you completely lost. Goodrow would most likely work just fine with Blais. I'm sure you can find some great right wingers if you want to. Kuznetsov came off a not so great year. So that wouldn't really work. Only thing you can really think to do is go into Free Agency with the intent to sign some good players and develop the prospects you have.</div></div>
Blais will be out of the league within 3 years and Buch will be a point per game player in STL. It was an awful trade.

I am afraid you are right. As a Rangers fan, I’m kind of hoping we get outbid. I’m fine with losing Kravtsov and Chytil and we are due for a logjam on defense down the line but I don’t think the organization will move Schneider. They seem quite high on him and he is part of their little grit revolution they’re pushing lately.

Fleury is getting toward the end of his career and contract so my rationale was Vegas would line up a successor. I feel like already acknowledged this reality when they acquired Lehner, but I feel Lehner will get more money and term as an UFA elsewhere this summer. Murray is still under team control as an RFA for one more season so he doesn’t get a lot of choice in the matter - thus, he signs a one year contract that takes him to UFA next summer and can negotiate with Vegas during the season. If they extend Murray, next summer for expansion they protect Murray and expose fleury, knowing Seattle won’t select a 38 year old goalie with one year left.

Do you ever listen to what an arrogant asshole you are? Skyraider made up the challenge a month ago and a bunch of people have been doing it - so don’t tell me to “give up” anything. Why don’t you give up being such a dick on here to everyone every day.
