Is Eichel even worth it
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>math731</b></div><div>I made a similar offer from MTL and BUF shat on me for making them retain 2m. Good luck with the comments youre about to get</div></div>
To be honest, as a BUF fan myself, most don’t think that’s a possibility but reality, not a lot of contending teams who have the assets to make the deal for Eichel’ have the cap space and Buffalo will need to take back bad money and retaining may be something they have to explore, especially if he’s moved during the season, but if Buffalo does that, it’s has to be for a more premium asset. Maybe not necessarily a Laf or a Kakko, but something a notch below.
The offer above is a very fair offer. I think if The Rangers were a Western team, it would be easier to accept. But I’m not sure if Buffalo can stomach sending Eichel to New York, even if it is the best offer they get. I think the preference will be to send him West.
As far for the Rangers, If they make that trade. they need to hope that they get some breakout performances from their youth like Laf and Kakko, otherwise it will be difficult because there is potential to be placed in cap hell acquiring Eichel with Panarin.
With the cost to acquire Eichel short and long term, NYR would honestly be better going for a guy like Dvorak or taking a flyer on Monahan or Kuznetskv

Not paying a backup goalie 4million to play 20-30 games let alone trading a top 10 team prospect plus a pick. There are plenty of veteran free agent goalies out there you can sign for about 2 million per to serve as a mentor to Hart

Who knows how many teams will OS Cirelli? A trade assures Cirelli of signing with your team, as well as preventing TBL from trading Cirelli's RFA rights to a team with cap room to sign him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Widowmaker</b></div><div>I revisited the trade that supposedly almost happened at the deadline. Without a CBO it might not be as likely but multiple sources had this one at the finish line before Lou got cold feet. I don’t think the Isles can afford it, myself. They’re going to have to move out some of their bottom 6 guys making $3+m and dump Boychuk just to pay Barzal and Pulock</div></div>
If there is 1 CBO, the islanders will use it on ladd and keep boychuk. The Parise trade was more about getting rid of Ladd than wanting to acquire parise. If they acquired him they wouldn’t have signed pageau long term. It was one or the other
There is no chance isles trade for parise now or else they’ll lose one of pelech or beauvillier next season.
Toews will get at least 3 mill, pulock around 6.25-6.5

That's a really low salary for Toews. I would do max 2 years if it's only $2M, from the player's perspective.

Murray is worth AT LEAST a late 1st rounder
Murray was good in Pittsburgh's two consecutive Cup runs, but his play has declined significantly since then. He has been below average in the last 3 seasons, with a GSAA of -5.02, good for 29th out of 45 goaltenders with at least 80 games played over that span.
<a href="https://www.naturalstattrick.com/playerteams.php?fromseason=20172018&thruseason=20192020&stype=2&sit=all&score=all&stdoi=g&rate=n&team=ALL&pos=S&loc=B&toi=4400&gpfilt=none&fd=&td=&tgp=410&lines=single&draftteam=ALL" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">GSAA 2017-2020 - Natural Stat Trick</a>
I wouldn't pay a 1st round pick for him, even a late round one.

Is there a particular position of need? Seems like Lafreniere, Byfield, Stutzle and Drysdale are gone in the top 5. Next group sounds like Holtz, Rossi, Perfetti and Raymond. I would like the Rangers to find a way to get Rossi but I don’t see it happening.</div></div>
Ya...Rangers will definitely have to trade up to grab him. A lot of scouting reports I've seen online think Rossi may even be NHL ready cause of his strong stature. I thought the Habs had a good shot at him at 8, but its looking more and more like he'll be gone in the top 5....
1. Lafreniere
2. Byfield
3. Stutzle
4. Drysdale
5. Rossi
6. Perfetti
7. Holtz
8. Raymond --- (i'd prefer Holtz or Quinn for the Habs....get another proper gamebreaking scorer)
--- Quinn and Sanderson have been jumping into the top 10 on some scouting reports.
oh ya...and definitely shouldn't trade Primeau for anything less than a bonafide Top 6 or an "A Level" prospect.....and then the Habs draft Askarov.

This trade only happens if Mtl pick Askarov in the draft. Otherwise Mtl shouldn't trade Primeau. Price is 33 and they don't have a goaltender with at least starter potential behind Price and Primeau

NYR Offer Sheet Cirelli
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>cbalzer28</b></div><div>Woops I thought it was 2 years of Brodin but you can always resign him he's young, and it will probably be 1 year of Strome as well.
I just think the way the offseason is going right now that they wouldnt be able to agree on a 4 or 5 year deal with Strome. I would expect a 1 year or maybe 2 year deal because of cap space and the uncertainty of what he really is still. Specifically without Panarin on his wing and his rough defensive metrics/Penalties.</div></div>
You can't just resign a UFA that easily...I wouldn't bank on doing that, especially because that same year you also have to sign Chytil, Buch, Igor, Lindgren, and more!
The reasons for the Rangers to deal Strome are
a) He blocks Chytil whose development into the top 6 is paramount
and
b) Rangers are in a slight cap crunch needing to sign Deangelo long term, so because Strome would be a 3C on this team, it doesn't make sense for the Rangers to sign him,
However, there are plenty of teams where Strome <em>would</em> be the 2C: Winnipeg, Anaheim, Columbus, Detroit, Florida, just to name a few.
Find a team with a hole at 2C and a solid 3C to spare. work out the difference in picks. go from there.

If dadonov signs for let’s say 5.5 and cutting Strålman that will put them at almost where they want to be. I still think they won’t cut that much like they’re saying. But they won’t spend to the max.

Very Conservative Approach MTL DAL pt2
And just to clarify. The proposed idea by the NHL is a 24 team playoff with the top 6 from each division according to Point %. (Listed here under Pts %). The remaining 7 teams (Rangers included) would be put into a lottery where the most they can move up is 4 spots (Rangers can only get to 3OA).
7OA seems perfectly reasonable for Raymond. Pronman has Raymond at 7. Button has him at 8. I've seen him anywhere from 4-12. And considering no one had Seider in their top 10 last year, if you're nitpicking Raymond at 7, you probably need to loosen that belt.

They’ll make more but not a lot more. I actually really like the Barrie add. Especially if we go with a more aggressive coaching staff. Lindell can be moved before expansion with Harley coming. I’d try to trade Faksa over Dickie as Dickie is cheaper and more versatile. Other than that I really like this. Robertson over Cogs. Dickie at 3C, Dell at 4C. Kivi or Caamano over Kuhnhackle. I don’t think you need Janni, tho I’ve always liked him and him with Dickie and Comeau is xGF fire

IMO this is solid. Lines are a bit wacky but that’s to be expected.
Not sure Columbus makes the 1st trade as we really have no use for more wings. Robinson is as good for the 4th line as Bennett would be.
I doubt San Jose makes the 2nd trade. They need younger forwards. Also we have to keep Kevliniks as of now he and Korpisalo are the only 2 goalies we have that meet the standards for exposer for a goalie.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Widowmaker</b></div><div>Thanks for the positivity despite disagreeing with everything! I tried to read a lot about the young centers and defense and it sounded like they might need another year or two, and I figured the front office would want to try to be competitive as long as they’re paying Toews and Kane. I see a lot of Hawks fans sticking up for Crawford but it seems like he’s either always hurt or the team is getting trounced on his watch... I don’t watch their games much though so I trust your viewpoints there. I have him taking a short deal in Montreal to back up Price.</div></div>
I think the hawks are in a weird spot where they really shouldn't do much if anything this offseason. Their main weakness was defense but they have a lot of D prospects that either just made the team or should push for a spot in the next year or 2. Crawford was very good this season. Yeah his concussion history the couple years prior is a worry but after seeing him stay healthy the full season (even after taking a couple hits to the head again) I think that's all the organization needed to see to offer crow a new deal. Now if he asks for any more than 4.5 mil for 2 years that's when you start looking elsewhere for goaltending.

Strome may be gone and Dach takes the 2C spot. That contract for Karlsson is a bit too much (Years and $). I guess Highmore/Seeler/Gilbert are in AHL.
One of Lankinen/Delia will probably be backup. And think they would like to keep Saad.
The rest seems good.
