intriguing, although I doubt Calgary wants to overpay for Strome's outlier year. They do have Monahan and Backlund and Lindholm cant play center too. I think Hanifin is all they have behind very old Giordano at LHD too.

I would be surprised if Calgary didn't take that because it's a pretty sweet offer

This whole Hanafin love affair is destructive. This ends up as; Hanifin for a 1st, two 2nds and Lindgren (to Seattle)! Lindgren > Hanifin. TDa or Trouba simply slides to Ld. Need Fs and bottom stop gap dmen.
Widowmaker liked this.

Valimaki is their future 1LHD and I think Kyington plays the left also.

Funny, people claim Mittelstadt is a bust (over 100 games) but this guy is a #1 LHD? 24 games? same draft

kylington is 5 years past his draft year and has played under 90 games, is he really an option?

also, doesnt address calgary overpaying strome

Overpaying for Hanifin. Strome is coming into his own in NHL so don't need to pay THAT much. Rangers have such a bright future that they may need to start thinking about cap space so maybe try to find a Dman on a good deal and try overpaying for him with all there assets?

I mean using the Skjei trade as a bench mark....you take away Hanifin's PP time (which like Skjei he won't have in NY), and he and Brady have identical point production over the last 2 seasons...

So I'm not sure if the difference between Skjei and Hanifin, at very similar contracts, both in their mid 20's, both putting up the same offensive production at even strength. is worth an entire late 1st (Strome value). Actually over the last 3 seasons, Skjei has better xGA figures so I'm not sure if there's even an argument to be made about Hanifin having a defensive edge there.

I'd probably say this is too much actually.
