Enough to get rid of Smith

Description
Strome and Fast signed two years because we'll need to pay Kakko, Fox and Zibanejad and pretty much everyone else next year. Obviously changes if Hank decides to retire, we get a CBO or he agrees to a trade. If not use Hank as the permanent backup on the bench and rotate Shesty and Georgie. Probably something like (45 starts Shesty, 22 starts Georgie and 15 starts Hank). Obviously not perfect but it's one more year till his contract expires and I really don't wanna. buy him out. Shesty would get all the starts if we were to make the playoffs though. Not ideal, but I can't see any other major trades realistically, but it's the Rangers so who knows.

You'd put Panarin on the 2nd Line? Wasn't he in the conversation for Hart trophy prior to the season suspending? I'd think you'd want him out there on the top line as much as possible

It's not as much about "top-line" as it is combinations. For example Toronto doesn't put Nylander as their 1LW because Hyman fits Marner's and Matthews's play style better.

Im not a rangers fan but i'm pretty sure he was playing on the second line because he has good chemistry with strome. Also Draisaitl who is another hart candidate played on the second line for a lot of the season, the difference in ice time isn't that much between the first and second line.

Fair enough, fair enough. I really don't watch the Rangers, just the condensed games on NHL.tv Was unaware he was playing on 2nd Line. Makes sense if that's who he has chemistry with.

His chemistry was off the charts with Zibanejad. Nothing new here, just obviously spreading the wealth. BOS and WPG come to mind as teams that stack power with a top heavy line. Either way, lines shmines, they change by the minute...
