The bigger question would be: Why would NJ give Flames three assets, including a top prospect for fringe NHLers? Although Wideman has some value, if the Flames want to offload his salary , maybe a team that needs a Dman, and has cap room...like the Devils or Coyotes will take him off your hands for a 7th rounder.
Want Ristolainen from the Sabres....Brodie, Tkachuk, Kylington might be accepted.

Yah, thinking Brodie, Tkachuk, and Kylington might be closer to acceptable to get Risto from the Sabres. The 3 AHL's and a 34 year old journeymen 3rd pairing aren’t going to cut it, even with you throwing in a 1st round pick.

Wideman has to prove he can play AND play nice with this season's referees, who will surely have it out for him. IF that happens and Wideman survives to the TDL, he can be moved to a contender. He's still got some good offensive skills.
