Why would SJ do this? We could easily find a better offer with less useless pieces. Hutton is worse than Jones and is effectively a dump with negative value, Montour is due for a big raise and fully useless to us as our right side is full for years to come. CJ smith is an AHL player. We also give up an extra pick here for some reason? None of this works for us

If I was Reinhart I'd take a paycut to get as short deal as possible to hit free agency. Might as well get out from the crap show when nothing's changing.

I just saw this on a post from Die by the Blade where they thought a trade along the lines of Labanc for Montour would work and I assume that's where you got this from. That doesn't make any sense for us just given we already have Karlsson and Burns signed for a long time. Merkley will also be coming up soon. Yes he could play 3rd pair for us but he's going to be paid way too much for the 3rd pairing.

Let’s see here and AHL/NHL tweener ( to good for AHL not good enough for NHL) a good RD due a huge raise that we can’t afford given our other 2 RD making a combined 19.5 mil
And a horrid cap dump goalie for our only competent RW??
And we throw in a 3rd to boot dude no just no.

I’d Have considered Montour Labanc straight up if we were strong on RW and weak on RD but we’re not.
