Holy **** is that Coleman contract brutal, just cause some moron traded a 1st and a former 1st round pick for him doesn't make him worth $5.5M!... And for SIX years.. 😂

Colelman is very good.... good play driver, great on the pk, and solid defensively. Quality top 6 forward.

Top 6 forwards usually break the 40 point mark at least once in their career, something he's never done, Coleman is at best a 3rd line player, that's a ridiculous contract to give him.

Points do not necessarily relate to skill. Your statement is pretty empty considering you don't quantify why 40 points dictates a top 6 forward. Coleman is a good top 6 player. The only objection I can see to this contract is his age.

Think what you want, he's not a top 6 player, any team that's using Coleman in their top 6 sucks, see the Devils as an example.

Wow so any player on a bad team is automatically bad? Great logic. Keeping thinking that lol.

He was traded to a powerhouse team with good players and he accumulated 1 assist in 9 games, yeah I know points aren't everything but if he was a top 6 forward he would of produced more then that, keep using your logic bud, I'm fine with mine thanks!

Wow now you're using a small sample, while saying essentially "points aren't everything, but they kinda are everything", while not actually explaining why points are apparently everything. Having a lot of points isn't a predicate for a good layer/top 6 forward.

I expect a certain level of point production from a top 6 forward and 40 points is the bare minimum, good 3rd line players hit that mark.
The Sabres would be way better off giving a contract like that to Mikael Granlund this offseason then Coleman in the summer of 2021.
Coleman would have to have one amazing 20-21 season to warrant a $5.5M×6 contract, sorry guy I just don't think Coleman is a top 6 player unless you're a bottom feeder team and Buffalo needs to not be a bottom feeder anymore when they have
Jack freaking Eichel as a 1C, just my opinion.

I like Coleman but he's not top 6. That contract would hit worse than Okposo
