laugh laugh You don't trade a young elite 1C 23 year old like Jack Eichel for a 34 year old Patrice Bergeron as the main piece. No way does buffalo accept that trade.

The truly respected clubs/organizations in the NHL fraternity don't throw their team LEGENDS to the wolves (period).

The collateral damage/trickle down effect is too great = remaining squad are p*ssed &/OR the rest of the league and players going forward will think twice about your club and culture.

* The deal for Jack, if BOS is ever in the mix, is the likes of DeBrusk +, or Carlo +, or McAvoy +, ( the '+' being picks/prospects etc etc); or not at all.

You'd ostracize yourself 100% to trade a 'rafter and 1st-Ballot HHOF player' (who is still playing great btw) for disgruntled Jackie-boy (whose steller NHL playoff career for example includes: 0-playoff games and 0-pts).

GMs don't do that and live to tell the tale...
