Just curious, in essence, is McQuaid that much more appealing over Fayne for an extra season despite the $600K cap savings, all things considered within the trades? They do seem to play a similar game, although I do not follow either much.

McQuaid can put up more points and has a better potential to become a better D.

McQuaid and Fayne are both 29 years old. There is no more potential to be realized...they are what they are! McQuaid can't play 70 games a season if his life depends on it and Fayne is an overpaid 3rd pairing guy...it's a wash.
