I agree with you 100%
That being said Eichel is a 10 m AAV and your trading him in a year the cap freezes meaning only a few teams will be able to take him on unless you take back cap, and with him being disgruntled most teams smell the blood in the water and are going to make the Sabres pay, given also that you just dumped your GM and will be hiring a new one who knows what’s going to happen I see you guys getting screwed as fans yet again is all I’m saying.

Nope there’s another option. When I’ve said 100 times. You tell Eichel to play and you’re not trading him unless the right package comes. If he wants his 10M a year, he’ll play. End of story

A. Younger by two years
B. Hertl is a center and they are valued over wingers.
3. Hertl scored 35 goals last year 74 point Sam ... 22/65
4. Hertl is locked in for 2 more years Sam is a restricted FA who will want to be paid 6-7 a season.

Again I said I’d love Sam on my team.... just not at the expense of Hertl.

I’d offer Labanc and our 2 Nd for him and if you guys don’t feel that’s fair I would walk as the sharks GM

Why aren’t you using this year before he got hurt as an example? It’s because he regressed after a monster year. Was only on pace for 27 goals and 34 assists for 61 points. It’s still good, but it doesn’t push your narrative. And with those totals, is he better then Sam? Is he for sure first line and Sam is just a middle six. Your speaking out of both sides here.

Career ppg
Hertl: 23.8 goals/year
26.8 assists/year
50.6 points per year
27 when the season starts coming off an injury w/ 2 years at 5.67M

Eichel: 31.7 goals/year
46.3 assists/year
78.1 points per year
24 when season starts coming off best year of career by far, at 6 seasons at 10M

Your outta your element bud

How am I outta my element I never said Hertl is better! In fact I’d trade Hertl Kane and a 1st or 2 for Eichel
Maybe more
But I was pointing out how you guys are comparing Sam to Hertl saying they are similar and I am pointing out how on paper Hertl and Eichel look similar too! Doesn’t mean they are equal players.

They don’t look similar. One year doesn’t make him the player Eichel has been his whole career so far and only getting better. Hertl is closer to Sam then he is to Eichel and that’s not a debate.

He signed the contract. Playing slow and scared won’t get him less hurt. He plays his ass off every game. The just play and we’ll trade you if the right trade comes along seemed to work for Col and Duchene and TB and Druion

This year was a catastrophic nightmare for the sharks bad lines bad cap management us signing a worthless d man to an absurd contract and not signing one of the 4 quality forwards that walked and a coach who couldn’t manage a taco truck.
The sharks are a dumpster fire last year so I take that out of the equation.

Honestly I hope buffalo gets a good gm and builds something there! You guys have talent but it’s been a long time since you’ve had good success

And why’s that? He’s one of the best players? He just regressed to his norm. Your the one using the outliar season as his regular when that’s not how statistics work

No not really dude look at Hertl healthy vs eichel healthy
Eichel is better (clearly) but heel is closer than your giving him credit for honestly eichel is as much better than Hertl was Hertl is that much better that Sam

This year was a down year for the whole team and he was on pace for 27 and 61 well given help and a good team around him wouldn’t you wager her goes back to 30+ & 70+?
Eichel has years of 24 and 25 goals as well they are only a few years of age different?

You prolly don’t watch much of Buffalo. Reinhart is a first liner in the nhl. Period. He’s easily one of the top 93 forwards in the nhl. To say he’s not is laughable

Ok.... so keep him
I’m trying to debate and have a real discussion just stating he’s 1st line with no backup is laughable.

but whatever keep your first liner sharks keep their players everyones happy.
