actually I wouldn't mind NYR taking Moulson and Franson from you for Nash, but we'd probably need a pick as well. Nash still has value, but Moulson has had several bad seasons in a row. NYR would also have to dump one of Dan Girardi or Marc Staal before taking Franson, but I'm ok with this, just would like a pick or a D prospect to help grease the wheels.

Eh, I just realized that Franson is a UFA next season, too, so they would definitely have to sweeten it up a bit to make this an easier pill to swallow.

Moulson and Nash have performed statistically similar since 2010, so any value Nash has, Moulson has similar. Nash's pedigree from 10 years ago is not a factor anymore. Also Franson having only having 1 year left i feel is a plus, Rangers clearing over a 3 mill in cap next season will help them out more than Franson.

2 seasons ago Nash scored 42 goals, last season he scored 15, missed some games, and played some with a massive bone bruise on his leg. Last season Moulson scored 6, and before that, 13. I'd say his value is higher than Moulsons, especially since Nash plays well in all 3 zones, and is especially great on PK. Not to mention that Moulson has that 3 year contract, which gets in the way of you guys resigning Eichel and Rhino. If this trade were to go through, NYR would be doing BUF a huuuuuuge solid, without really getting much in return. I'm fine with the trade, but there definitely needs to be a pick or a prospect involved.

And I wouldn't say that having 1 year left on Franson is a bonus. NYR need defensemen, so why would they trade for a dude to have him for just one season? Plus they aren't as in as much of a cap hell as everyone thinks.

13 goals but 41 points. That Nash season was an exception not the standard. The Moulson contract wont be a bother in 2 years, the Sabres shave a ton of dead weight over those 2 offseasons. If they like Franson they have exclusive contract rights till July 1st, they can resign him if they want so its win win.
