NYR don't want Staal either. Also we don't need any more LHD, so we don't want Scandella.

No way they trade Wheeler. Besides, you'll be better off keeping your picks, Nylander, and Carrier. Especially Nylander.

Actually I misread that information, the 42 game rule is:
McIlrath must play 42 games otherwise he goes to Unrestricted Free Agency.
So he isn't exempt, however, we'd probably lose him anyway because of it.
If he plays more than 42 he stays an RFA that we can resign before he hits FA.

Fast/Lindberg is a choice between who the Rangers think they'd want more, and is also conditional on how well Jooris and Hrivik play.
Klein/McIlrath is all dependent on how many games Dylan plays. If he hits 42, he is exposed to the draft, if he plays less he is protected, but becomes a free agent.
Seemingly, the way to deal with the Klein/McI situation is to trade Kleiner around the deadline for a small ransom, and then run these pairings:

Not an option. Buy out window opens after expansion draft[/quote]
Pretty sure the buyout window opens right before the expansion draft. The expansion draft is the 18th-20th of June, and the buyout window is June 15th.

Nakladal is a wicked savvy signing. If the B's signed him instead of trying to trade for a Dman, that would probably be the best move they made all off season. Sick Dmen are out there, and he's one of them.

Blues for the W
Whereas Zuccarello is probably worth somewhere around Shattenkirk value, no way do the Rangers trade their heart, soul, and best playmaker for 1 year of Shattenkirk when they could just try and get him in FA.
If you did get him, though, you'd def want to put Tarasenko or Schwartz on his line. The dude can thread a needle during an earthquake. Tarasenko could score 50 no problem with Zucco on his other wing, most of 'em would make the highlight reel, too.

Dominic Moore is sick. He's slowed down a bit, but the dude is a faceoff champ and a defensive dynamo, but he also has silky mitts. Great player and great dude. If he did sign with NSH, you guys would love him.

These trades are a little lopsided for EDM. Franson is a better Dman than Fayne, so you'd have to offer Buf a little more than just Fayne and a 5th for him, especially with cap retained.
ANA isn't going to trade away Lindholm for Sekera and a single 1st. He's generational at 22 years old. Going to have to toss in more for that one to go through, as well.
Lastly, Griffin is a bit of an unknown still, and still unproven at the NHL level, meanwhile, Trouba is still young and already proving himself. Once again, definitely going to have to offer more than just a 2nd and a 4th on top of Grif for Trouba.

Buchnevich at Center in Traverse City?
On Buch:
Buch started out as a center when he was really really young, but wasn't super good at it so when he got to the big leagues, his coach switched him to wing.
in the KHL he had a few stints as a center for Severstal, but they were short lived, and because of an injury.
On your trades:
I wouldn't want to see Stepper go like that. Zibby and Hayes are both good and capable centers, but neither of them are really 1C material just yet. I'd want them to mature a bit more, so losing Step after losing Brass would leave a gaping hole in our Center depth, even with Pirri, Hayes, Zibbs, and Jooris.

I agree. Buffalo will be so stoked to get EK9 off of their team, that they'll pretty much make any trade. Not to mention Franson has only 1 year left on his contract. We probs don't have to throw in that 3rd, and we can probably get a pick back, too.

Eh, I wouldn't say NYR NEED to dump Nash, they're just trying to trim excess. He's very important to our entire team. He logs plenty of 5v5, PK, and PP time, and does all of them very well. That being said, I think the Ranger would be more than willing to move him, with salary retained even, for some picks and prospects.
I personally would like Pysyk, but you guys literally JUST acquired him from BUF so I doubt he goes anywhere.
That being said, I think a 2nd and a 3rd is a big underpayment for him.

Hey man I'd be more than happy to grease the wheels a little bit to get Vatanen. We need a better RHD anyway. But Nash, even with low value, is still very valuable, especially since he'll very obviously do super well with Getzlaf/Perry. But I agree.
I don't agree, however, that Bieksa is much better than Girardi Maybe a little better, but not "way" better. If you take a look at #FancyStats, Bieksa is just about as good at suppressing shots as Girardi, which isn't very good anyway.

Real hard pass on Bieksa. Also Fowler.
But if the Ducks were willing to actually trade a player who can play, I'd be open to Lindholm, Vatanen, Despres, Manson, Theodore, or Montour. Hell, I'd even trade for Stoner, but I wouldn't trade Nash for him.

lmao who's that buddy up there that thinks Fowler is worth this trade?
Fowler is horrid. Using #FancyStats he's pretty much just as bad as Girardi. His only redeeming quality is that he can sometimes put up a few points and that he's faster than G. Otherwise, he is a possession dud that hemorrhages shots like a stabbed artery. I would maybe trade a depth player or a low pick for Fowler, based solely on the hopes that he "turns it around."
No way I'd trade a top 6 forward and our best Offensive prospect for Fowler.

Forgot Buch, slap him on the 3rd, move Fast down. Then I'd swap Enzo and Vesey. Enzo is a proven NHLer, Vesey hasn't stepped foot on NHL ice yet.
Finally, I'd slap Franson on the 1st pair with Mac, and put Kleiner down on the 2nd with Holden. Holden and Klein are similar players and I'd love to see them be a pair. I'd also swap Skjei out with Staal and make Staal ride the pine.
