On Buch:
Buch started out as a center when he was really really young, but wasn't super good at it so when he got to the big leagues, his coach switched him to wing.
in the KHL he had a few stints as a center for Severstal, but they were short lived, and because of an injury.

On your trades:
I wouldn't want to see Stepper go like that. Zibby and Hayes are both good and capable centers, but neither of them are really 1C material just yet. I'd want them to mature a bit more, so losing Step after losing Brass would leave a gaping hole in our Center depth, even with Pirri, Hayes, Zibbs, and Jooris.

Caroline wouldn't trade their stud Dman for Stepan. They have centres. Too much term and money coming to Sabres (Staal...five years) for just three years of Gorges and Gioanta. And Sabres give up draft choices too?
