We would pass from that Anaheim trade, we gain nothing from it, we would just be taking 3 steps backwards giving up 3 regulars in the lineup for a very bad defender and a player who will not play. PASS.

And with regards to Edmundson that price is a bit steep and one NJ likely does not want to pay and I think its too much for any team.

I’m not wholly against the Edmundson deal. I think that’s what it takes for him to come to NJ given the current trajectory. I think the team benefits from having him on the left side. Ignoring Gudbranson, the defense doesn’t look awful. I think I would also add Mermis to the mix. I thought he played well in limited capacity last year.

Also, I hate Gudas, but wouldn’t be opposed to signing him. This team needs some grit somewhere.
