Keeping Andersen in 2021 with flat cap

Created by: CapGuy

Description
I know people weren’t big fans of me trading Andersen in a previous post... but with the flat cap it’s gonna very challenging. I would say in this scenario Andersen is underpaid and yet it’s still tough to put a full roster together. Either Nylander or Hyman are gone (or both). Curious to hear opinions on what 2021 will look like, but I don’t think going with a 1a and 1b in net is a terrible option. Cheers!

Couple of things:

Expansion draft means they'll be losing one of the forwards or Holl here.

Anything over 3 years for Freddy is a pass.

Sure we can debate term, but that doesn’t really matter in 2021. My point is do you resign him to big dollars or do you build a more well rounded team with less talent in net at a cheaper cost.

You could go 3 x 6.5 or so

That makes the 2021 issue even worse. Again the term doesn’t matter because in future years that cap will increase. But in 2021 it will likely still be 81.5

I'd rather not have a 35+ year old goalie on the cap for 6 million dollars who isn't top 5

Ya I get that. I should’ve just done a 1 year deal because I don’t care about term lol. I’m just trying to figure out how to sign him in 2021. That’s all I care about in this post not whether he gets 1 or 8 years
