This is a little something I think of for the Montréal Canadiens next year. We keep the first line Tatar-Danault-Gallagher. We resign Domi for a long term at 5,5 millions per year (this is Drouin current cap hit) and for Drouin, we trade him for Shayne Gosthisbehere who isn't fitting with the Philadelphia Flyers. The two players have 3 years remaining and if we keep 500,000$ from Drouin, they have the same cap hit. I think it is a trade that could be benific for the two teams. The two are unwanted and the two would be a great fit in their new team. Also, we sign Kovalchuk in the free agency like he said he would want to come back in Montréal. At the defense, we sign Byfuglien to a 1 year contract, no risk there, and he played with Chiarot back in Winnipeg which could be an awesome 3rd duo. And finally, we sign Thomas Greiss to a generous contract, but I believe that him and Price could be the best goaltender duo next year, especially with that defense in front of them. The offense would still be the weakness of the team, but I believe we got to be patient and trust our young players! Also, I would maybe give a little something to Seattle for them to claimed Paul Byron. He is not that of an important player and he has a big 3,4 million on the cap hit which we could replace with a guy that costs way less. Tell me what you think!
