Avs have 2 goalies already. Why would we give up an asset for a 3rd string goalie who would cost 5M+ against the cap?

Fair. I actually thought they only had Grubauer.

But, Hank is still very good. The only reason he's 3rd string is because NYR are rebuilding and Georgiev and Igor are 24 and the future. If Hank got 45-50 starts, I have no doubt he'd be a top 10 goalie in the league. I think a leader/goalie like hank could easily get them over the hump and would be a difference maker in the playoffs. We'll see over the next few weeks but I really doubt Grubauer can be that. Plus, I never underestimate GMs and their nostalgia. Roy helped bring the cup to Colorado for Sakic. Maybe he sees Hank as that 2.0

Really? Kerfoot is very good. Could be a great Middle-6 until Chytil, Henriksson or Jarvis are ready. Plus, Tyson Jost might have some untapped potential to be 3c or better.

Morgan Barron would play his role just fine. He spurned us 2 years ago so NYR will not trade for him.

Exactly this ^
They have 2 G in place, why add a third that’ll cost 5mil?

I don't want to rush Barron. And I think competition is great. Kerfoot vs. Jost vs. Barron for 3c and 4c would bring out the best in all. I don't know if Kerfoot "spurned" the Rangers just because he picked the Avs. The Rangers were in the running. He probably just looked at the center depth at the time and decided against it. They had just drafted Lias and Chytil and they still had Hayes, Miller, on top of Zib. I don't know. Think Kerfoot is a strong addition. Who would you target instead? I think the ranger should take advantage of capped out teams like Blues, Toronto, Vegas, etc.

Why would the Penguins do that? lol

Strome isn't an upgrade anywhere. Andersson isn't very good.

because Strome had 59 points in 70 games and Rutherford traded a 1st and Sundqvist for Ryan Reeves.

Zib Chytil Jost is fine no to kerfoot he did nothing in playoff atmosphere. Replacing Kadri with Kerfoot was big mistake by analytic weenie. Like Fast resign. No to Dillon. Lindgren Smith Miller nice LD. Year later it’s Lindgren Miller Robertson

I'd love to slot in Miller but don't want to rush him. I'd prefer a stop-gap until he's ready. Dillon is the "sound defensive" dman that they THINK Staal is. He'd be a major upgrade and immediately improve their defensive game. Then, when Miller is ready, he can slot down to 2nd or 3rd pair plus PK time and his contract is still reasonable for that.

Definitely need good defensive dmen our whole offensive RD looked awful against Carolina and Staal blows. I Wouldn’t sign him 4 years tho. Id ride out Smith him and Lindgren were only D that showed up for playoffs.

Maybe I sign Dillon if they trade Tony. Smith can play right for a year
