I like the trade, but it would take more to sign Russell; just because he hasn't signed yet doesn't mean there isn't interest in him (remember last year, when Franson waited months and months before finally signing for more than $3M/yr)

Russell is terrible. He made Dougie Hamilton go from a top pair dman to a random #4. After russell left the flames Hamilton stock soared. Berglund? Really? He's like a friggen clone of Beleskey. Edmundson + Butler are impaired and I know you didn't give up a lot, but that trade is awful. You traded for crap we already have + Russell, who is the single most overrated dman in the league imo. Blocking shots? It's called get the foreward you are responsible for + yourself out of the way. You are litterally impedeing the goalie by stepping in the shot lane so close to the goal.
