Winnipeg was a team that lacked defense and a stay at home defenseman like De Haan just seems like a solid fit for the Jets and just throwing in Caggiula as an add in because I dont see the Hawks re-signing with the cap not changing and our current cap troubles. I felt a second round pick was a fair return for Chicago as it is an in division trade so the cost will be higher.

Regarding the contracts:
Kubalik for 4.5 seems pretty fair to me according to Mark Lazerus he's looking for a deal between 4 or 5 million so 4.5 seemed pretty fair, Strome had a down year due to DeBrincat's drop in production though he was snake bitten for most of the year both players will bounce back and 3.75 seems like a fair bridge deal for Strome.
Koekkoek at 1.25 million for 1 year will keep him around and he's been solid and can really prove that he can be a solid bottom pairing dman
Crawford I feel like would sign a fairly cheap deal at 1 year 4 million as i don't see the hawks dishing out more than that for a goalie that will be 36 by the end of the season.

I feel like the Hawks underachieved this year and have plenty of players that can truly break out and give the vets one more serious chance at a cup run before players start exiting their primes. I know a lot of people have moved Maatta but with how he has played this post season I feel like it would be a good move to keep him around unless Colliton and Bowman have strong enough faith in Lucas Carlsson to have him as a full time starter next year.
Another thing I've seen a lot of has been trades involving Nylander which I feel like it would be in our best interest to keep him because he has a boat load of talent and giving up on him this early would be a mistake.
