Columbus declines. Athanasiou (much as I like him) hasn't proven himself to be a valid top-6 guy on a contender, nor has Chiasson, and we need top-6 forwards, preferably a 2C. If you're open to moving Nugent-Hopkins, we'll happily talk.

Mete would make sense, but the leafs giving up Dermott probably means it doesn’t peak the oilers interest

Chiasson is just depth at a great price if he’s only making 1 mil. Guaranteed 10/15 goals, and he can play on the PP.

Athanasiou is a risk, and I think he will be great with columbus. Obviously he isn’t a solid top 6 forward, but goalies really aren’t worth that much

I'm telling you, you're offering two guys who are likely bottom-6 forwards on a contender. We've already got like 9 of those guys. This doesn't get accepted simply because it doesn't move us towards what we need.

I like the Leafs trade.

**** Korpisalo, he's carried by his defense. Merzlikins is better.

Yeah I don’t get this. A defenseman that looks to be more an AHL journeyman for a guy that’s showed up nice this year and can play very well in most roles and looks fantastic centering 3rd line and on a sweat heart contract the next two year. Hard hard pass

Benning was legitimately the most consistent oilers d man this year. Just no room for him rn. He’s a 2.5mil / year d man. I don’t know how that’s worth Roy, who is one year removed of being an AHL player
