Alright, about challendge.
You must make list of 3 players who retired already, and 3 players who active in present day (dont mater if player plays in other team or leave nhl).
And also write please reason(s) why this player deserve jersey retirement.
My Favorite Team: Toronto Maple Leafs
Retired:
#25 - DAVE ANDREYCHUCK
Andreychuk played 2 full (and parts of '92-'93 and '95-'96) seasons with Toronto amassing a respectable 125 Goals, and 219 points while in the Blue and White. He was an integral part of the '93 and '94 playoff runs by the Leafs, piling up 24 playoff points. Overall, Andreychuk has 640 Goals and is more than deserving of a jersey retirement.
#22 - TOMAS KABERLE
Kaberle was drafted in the eighth round of the 1996 nhl draft, and proved to be much worth that pick. he played for the Leafs from 1998 until he was traded to the bruins in 2011. Kaberle was an integral part on the Leafs blueline for over a decade.
#28 - TIE DOMI
When someone's a pain, in your scorer's butt, who you gonna call??? Tie Domi! anyone? no? okay. moving on.
Tie Domi played for the blue and white for eleven years, amassing more than triple the amount of penalty minutes, than games played. while not known for his offensive capabilites, he was more than capable of standing up for the scorers of the Leafs.
Active:
#34 - AUSTON MATTHEWS
While it may be early, i think Matthews is deserving of a number retirement. one of the best centres of his era, arguably top five in the NHL. Scoring 4 goals in his first game, and accumulating almost 300 points. Once he leads Toronto to some playoff success, he is a no-brainer in my opinion.
#44 - MORGAN RIELLY
Arguably the best defencemen the leafs have had since the salary cap, even when the leafs SUCKED in between 2006-2015. He was drafted 5th overall by the leafs in 2012. He had a breakout season in '18-'19, scoring 20 goals and 72 points, and even squeaking his way into some norris conversations.
#91 - JOHN TAVARES
Current Maple Leafs captain, and second line centre. Tavares takes alot of the load off of matthews shoulders, and is a great two way centre, top 15 in the league inmy opinion. once he retires, i believe hes deserving of a number retirement.
