The Kings are just under $17 million from the cap and they could use a LW, and Kerfoot can play LW. If Toronto wants to get value out of Kerfoot, a few prospects can sweeten the deal for them. Otherwise, I can see maybe a mid round pick for Kerfoot only but getting 2 picks off of the Kings will likely need prospects to be involved for LA to make this deal

As I have stated, the Kings don't need to take the cap dump. They are set in their top 9 forwards. They are looking to improve on last year and see what they have with some of their kids. There is no pressure to win now.

When you have 2 guys in your Top 4 lines on ELCs, you can afford to make this deal, not as a cap dump, but to improve your lineup at a reasonable price

Again, the Kings are hoping to get a top 10 pick next year. They are not run by the TML who throw cash around just like their draft picks to win now. Kings are not in that position. It's not a matter if they can afford to do it, it is a matter of why would they want to take on additional salary when there are better players and situations for them to choose from. There is no real benefit for them in this trade.

They'd still get a Top 10 pick in 2021 at this rate, but adding a veteran for cheap and 2 players who are making their way to the NHL could help these prospects the Kings have. The Kings should make this move and if they find something else to fit their team, they can either flip any of the players the Leafs give them or use their cap space to their advantage

Kings have no need to make this trade. Find another team that will take the cap dump

Yes were dumping Kerfoot's contract but throwing in pieces and getting picks and a prospect in return will help both teams. Its how I look at this deal

I don't see a need for the Kings to make this trade. They are not in a position to contend this coming year, and keeping the payroll down and looking at their prospects is what they will be doing. The only thing they are looking at right now is top LHD to play with Doughty.
