I admire your enthusiasm in signing Lindholm, but wonder if really is worth it to Ottawa. The Sens still might be outta the playoffs in two of those four # 1 draft pick years.
The two trades make no sense to Chicago and St Louis. Hawks would only benefit a few draft rounds, and the real danger is that MacArthur might come back and then be a cap player again. St Louis has a lot of Dmen and wouldn't be interested in taking on more cap especially at Methot's 4.9m a year

Not to sound arrogant, however bare extreme injuries or under achievement, there is absolutely no way the Senators fail to make the playoffs with that D, and upcoming prospects.

I think offersheeting him wouldn't be a bad idea, but it wouldn't cost 4 1st's. Sign him for 7.5 million and it would only cost a 1, 2, and 3rd. Although according to General Fanager, Ottawa doesn't have the picks to do so

The compensation is for the amount of cap hit multiple by 5 years. Aka if you sign him for anymore than $50 million in full contract terms, you give up 4 1st rounders.

Won't be able to afford Turris, Stone and Karlsson raises in a couple years
