Enough with paying assets for players with higher contracts. It is needed sometimes, but players still hold value.
Russell at 1 year filling a roster spot so a prospect can play appropriate minutes in a different league is worth a low draft pick.

Ottawa has its own depth, they don’t need yours. If you want Ottawa to take your bad depth with a bad contract, you need to pay them to do it. Ottawa has more than enough left shot defence. If you feel Russell still has value, keep him.

Ottawa doesn’t want Russell, Ottawa doesn’t need Russell, so if you want Ottawa to take Russell so you can clear some cap space, then you must pay them to take him, regardless of if he still has value.
