Description

The goal is to get depth forwards at low cost, ideally for 1 year due to the need of $ to resign players next year.

I assume Bergevin is willing to trust Evans for 4th center. He said at some point you have to trust your young players. But Evans can be sent to Laval with no waiver risk. So you still would like someone that can take a 4th center role, or least take faceoffs.

So let's get a center 13th foward + a winger for a 4th line.

We also need to have in mind that KK can gain up to 2.5m in performance bonus. If he does well and he makes the playoff, he could eat some cap space with his bonus. Same for Romanov+Suzuki (200k+400k). For example, the young players with performance bonus in Dallas will cost them 3m this year in cap space. It can be differ to next year I think but Dallas didn’t want that, and MTL wouldn’t want that either (next year is a big summer).

In short, the goal is not to be tight to the cap limit because of potential 3m performance bonus + keep space for a rental at TDL.

Probably unwanted or unaffordable (no q/o = high demand)

*Brassard is a long shot. Would need to trade Weal for 700k 13th forward

Dorion said Duclair asked too much so he didnt both give him his q/o because that would end up in arbitrage ($$$ because he had a good year, UFA right after)

If it's 2.5m or less maybe, but I doubt.
