Description

Hirose and Timashov are sort of interchangeable. Both need to develop their all around game. Whoever has the best camp gets that spot. Rasmussen could use more time to refine his game. Svechnikov is not an NHL player at this point, I've given up on him. Smith could make the roster but I think he could also benefit from one more year.

Cholowski could snag a spot, but he needs to improve his decision making to be an effective NHLer. Lindstrom is good but we should allow him some time to develop instead of throwing him to the wolves.

If the AHL doesn't exist this year then these guys get loaned to Europe.

I think Svechnikov sticks around in Detroit so we don’t lose him for nothing - if he’s not traded first. I wanted to see Smith in the lineup this year, but with Ryan, Erne, Gagner and assuming Timashov all get/got deals/renewed, another year in the A for Smith isn’t a bad thing. Same for Rasmussen. I’m fairly content with this roster. . . And as I write this Namestnikov signs a 2 year deal with us. I wonder where he fits lol
