Duchene had a bad year, sure, but who else would you be referring to? Historically, NSH doesn't go after top UFAs -- only Duchene because he wanted to be in NSH.

Duchene, Subban, Turris, Johansson. I know most aren't UFAs but they sign the big contacts and fissure out.

None other than Duchene were UFAs...

Subban was signed by MTL, not NSH, but he was good in NSH, Johansen has been good in NSH save for last season, and Turris just didn't work in NSH - that happens.

I keep hearing this same argument that Nashville "ruins" UFA's and then they try to save their argument by saying they "know" they aren't all UFA's. Subban was honestly a good trade for us, he lost his ability it seems, and we are lucky to get out of his contract. But that was a trade, so... Johansen is good, he is great down the middle, especially when he and his line mates are performing at a high level. Last season was obviously not his best. But. That was also a trade. Turris is the worst trade for us in a while, we all know this. We lost Girard, it sucks. Once again, a trade. But saying that Duchene has just gotten worse is dumb. He was one of our best point scorers last season, a shortened season at that. He also doesn't have much threat on his wings, which is exactly what we are attempting to fix.
