if buch has a similar season that he had in the past and hypothetically his stats are around 20 goals and around 55-60 points. he'll be in for a nice raise. btwn 5-6 million. it doesn't make sense for the rangers to re-sign him with our depth at RW.
i would think buch's value is highest right now because of his low cap hit. i honestly thought the team was going to trade him during the off-season but that doesn't look like the case anymore. if they would to trade him now i would think at least what Kapanen brought back. even though Kapanen has an addition season with a long cap hit buch is a much better player.
i now think the rangers aren't going to be sellers at the tdl. neither do i think they will be buyers. the team still aren't contenders but they are good enough to compete for a playoff spot. so when they do trade buch it'll be at the draft next season. unless the rangers are able to get a 2c from now until than and he is included in the deal, which looks unlikely. buch's value won't be nearly as good than. i'm thinking a 2nd and a subpar nhl player on a elc or low cap hit.
