NSH declines. There are other top six wingers they could get, that wouldn't require giving up Ellis.

Hoffman and Duclair are still out there. Vegas and Tampa have cap problems and will probably have to let go of someone for less than market value. Sure, Nylander would be preferable to most of the possible options, but not at the expense of what NSH would lose on defense with this trade. Replacing someone like Ellis would be harder than finding someone like Nylander.

I was thinking of Hoffman as a potential target for Nashville. I'm kinda surprised they haven't signed any big UFA's so far. They could definitely use the offence.

There were a lot of rumours they were negotiating with Hall. Poile said at his press conference today they still haven't necessarily ruled out adding another player, but he likes having the cap space. It could open up more options down the road.

Well Poile is a smart GM.
I think Preds will have to spend some $ on offence if they want to be a contender again.
Will be interesting to see what they do...maybe buy low with Athanasiou and still have lots of cap space.

I'm not a believer when it comes to Athanasiou, but if he was willing to take $1.5M or so for a season, it's probably worth trying. Personally I'd rather just give a prospect an opportunity though.
