That seems like a lot of work, and it doesn't really look like the team is that much better than it would be if they just signed Dermott and Mik. Why give Kahun that kind of money when that is likely around what Mik will make anyway?

Kahun at that price would be cheaper than Mikheyev probably signs for and allows us to use Mikheyev rights to acquire a good cheap 3C in Gaudette. We can then use Kerfoot at 2LW. We also end up getting Weegar as a locked in long-term solid 2RHD meaning our top4D are all set for the foreseeable.

Personally I'm of the opinion that Weegar, Kerfoot, Gaudette, Kahun is better than Mikheyev, Dermott, Holl and Engvall.

Although I do agree this requires a bit of work / multiple trades that Dubas will probably not do at this stage.
