I would guess Samsonov will play better than 2.7

Yea I agree. I have him at 3.5x2 but that wouldn’t work for the cap situation in this scenario.

Ovi will sign a 3-4 year contract and then Retire in the KHL. He already said that. And I highly doubt he leaves the Caps.

He said 3-5 so I just went with Max. Either way, I hope they keep him long term. It would be great to see him break Gretzky’s record.

Ya, I think it will be 3 or 4. I don’t think it will be 5. I think he’ll play 2 years in the KHL to end it. He definitely not leaving Washington though. Anyone who thinks their team has a chance of signing him his dreaming. Why would a player leave his team he’s been with his whole career on his last contract?? It makes no sense unless he was chasing a cup.

assuming they want him (not saying the wouldn't but you asked why he would leave, that would be a scenario)

There would be a riot. And the money the team would make on his games that are going for the record would be ridiculous. Worth the signing!!
