    Don't know if anyone wants Bickell's 4m a year deal. That 3m in cap space sure would look good in signing the departed Brad Richards. Maybe Johnny O or Cody Frannson can still be signed for defence

    True, but Calgary has lots of cap space and may want a veteran and Stanley Cup champion as a third-liner for the time being. Only has two more years left on his contract so it may actually serve them well while their prospects develop. Brad Richards already signed with Detroit. And Franson is too expensive... Oduya's role is filled by Daley.

    Hi Rob. With most teams near the cap (after they sign their RFAs), I wonder what the value is for a guy like Frannson. Seems like Montreal overpaid for Petry at 5.5m and Frannson thinks he should get the same. Seems like only Carolina or NJ would have a need and cap for Frannson. My prediction is he gets 3.5m on a 1 year deal.

    That would make sense... Petry got way too much IMO, would even be too much for Franson too.
