Pacioretty cap hit is $7MM, and is owed $5.25MM in salary this season, so 50% is $3.5MM in cap, and $2.625MM in salary.

You want Ottawa to pay $2.625MM cash, and take on $3.5MM in cap, for;
2021 1st Round Pick (VGK)
2022 2nd Round Pick (CBJ)

Well crap, there's 3 seasons left on that contract. Make that $8.75MM cash for no players, and $3.5MM cap hit for three seasons

This is really bad, and you might want to delete this.

Andrew Ladd is untradeable, and he's $5.5MM cap hit for three seasons and $9MM salary left. This isn't too far off.
