Nah, odds are Johnny doesn't sign in Calgary or Columbus, Jackets get a B+ prospect and a 1st. Calgary gets an absolute elite C

Ah yes, a guy with a career low pace of 65 points for a guy with a career high pace of 61 points, and the former is adding a 1st, a top prospect, and another pick upgrade. Makes sense

I mean if you want to judge two polar opposite kind of players off points then for sure, that's your thing man!
5 Years younger, plays one of the best center games in the league, still growing into his game, controllable RFA at the end of his contract, physical C that drives play from the middle. PLD answers the question for possibly the next decade as to who the Flames 1C is. Gaudreau isn't the best LW on the Flames.

Remove Pelletier and then the answer is “maybe”, IMO.

Even then, CLB is trading a franchise center for a short term rental winger.

Pelletier is exactly why CLB trades a franchise center for a short term winger. Deal obviously doesn't happen if there is no long term benefit for CLB
