I was thinking of doing this seriously, but I got into Holland-mode and think I'm pretty close to reality...

This would actually have Ryan Miller in too at the trade deadline of 2017. Vancouver needs a successor for Miller. They get one for the playoffs and two years after at slightly less for the two years after.

Detroit had to hold onto Miller for the rest of 2017 but let him walk after. This was really just to make it possible for Vancouver to do it. Maybe even have Vancouver keep the difference between Miller and Howard's contracts.

Vancouver already has a successor for Miller. Two, in fact.

Ott and Miller aren't being resigned, And Tatar isn't signing no 2 year deal try more like either 5 or 6 years. No way is Vancouver interested in Howard. And that's a major overpayment for Athanasiou he's get slightly over $1 million for 2 years no way he gets $2.75 million.

Watty1, my information on Markstrom was stale. I still think it would benefit them though.

Larkinisking, Ott and Miller, or others like them, will HAVE to be resigned because they will play for the peanuts left in the budget. Tatar getting five or six? I wouldn't put it past Holland unfortunately. Maybe somewhere in the middle on AA. No way he only makes $1M though. Look at people not seen as important as him. Sheahan and Marchy made nearly $1.5M to $2M. Holland will definitely spend at least that.
