That was not the main issue. Only 2/6 defensemen are good puck-movers.

Lauzon can move the puck, he just needs more of a green light to get more engaged in the offense. Ideally, we shouldn't be looking to our defensemen to provide offense, the forwards have just been that bad.

"the forwards have just been that bad" That's just wrong. Some of them have underperformed but most of them are good players.

Don't know what games you've been watching, but everyone except Marchand, Bergeron, Pastrnak, Ritchie, and Frederic have underperfomred drastically. Yes they are good, but they haven't done a thing this year.
