hoffman would be an interesting pick up. im not sure what the blues would ask for but i definitely wouldn't go overboard for him

he doesn't play defense though. He's very one dimensional. Where do you put a guy like that.
You don't want him on the 1st line. Jake is the sniper there.
You don't want a guy who doesn't play defense on the 2nd line with Malkin. That just historically doesn't work.
You can't put a guy who doesn't play D on the 3rd line. Because they are going to have to play in the DZone.

They need a 2 way F whoever they get.

Which is why I think people like Bennett. But the cost has to be right.

I think if everyone heals up, and Zoho keeps playing well, they shouldn't do much of anything. They found their bottom 6 center. They might have found their fast, big, skilled forward who can hit.
Sometimes, just leave good enough alone.

your giving up a better top 6 player for them.
You don't win doing that.

i just look at it as we have mccann now producing to replace zucker on the second line. this trade gives us a solid center and solid winger and then we and another winger to trade with for peterson. and we clear cap space in the process. this allows us to protect mccann in the draft now also

ya they'd help for sure. any of those 4 will improve parts to the lineup

I think a lot of people want to see Bennett, I'm not against it at the right price. I don't know if we'll see that happen though.
As for Hoffman, he doesn't play defense. It's not gonna work out.
