well if i am right, pronger's contract is done after this season. I am not sure if his cap hit is 0 or half though

but you could put pronger's contract in injured reserves. certainly can't do that for desharnais

Why does Arizona do this though? Save a little cap hit but have to pay the player once he returns? The Yotes aren't paying Pronger virtually anything. The insurance is. If they get DD, sure they get another body who may help a little but they actually have to pay for his salary once he returns from injury.

As a Habs fan I would totally do this but there is no reason for the Yotes to do this. We'd need to throw in a draft pick. At least that way it is beneficial for the rebuilding Yotes.
