The Reaves deal I can deal with, we’re keeping Reinhart.

Thats up to no one but him. If he doesnt sign long term they move him or lose him for nothing. He sees the light at the end of the tunnel, dont get your hopes up

How many teams can remain competitive paying him $7 million a year? Nobody has any cap space, unless you’re talking about Seattle. If they do, they’re not a competitor, so why would he go there?

There will be a market for Reinhart next offseason, its extremely shortsighted to think otherwise

If he signs a long-term deal this off-season there is no market. Obviously I expect the Sabres will be looking to give him one. I’m thinking five or six years, $7 million a season. Unless he has an 80 point season next year he’s not getting more than that anywhere. So yeah, he has a choice to make. He can bet on himself like Taylor Hall did, and see if he earns a huge offer on the open market. Taylor Hall won’t be getting one of those. Or he can sign the long term guarantee that the Sabres are willing to offer him now. Long-term stability is a pretty nice thing, ask Jeff Skinner.

I think youre trying really hard to convince yourself he wont leave. I dont know why he has to score 80 points to get a 6 x 7 somewhere else, Kevin Hayes got a 7 x 7 from Philly with worse stats than Reinhart, teams will be offering him market value or over
