Here is my list of one player from every team that I think the Sabres would require to be involved in a trade for Jack Eichel. Some teams have more than one guy that might work, but here’s my top choice. This is by no means a perfect list, and not every team is going to even try to offer for Eichel. maybe replace him with CBJs 2021 first. i know its not a player but not really any of the other teams looking to pick top 6/7 loook like teams that would be comfy with giving up their early firsts.

I’m not entirely convinced the plan is to blow everything up and start over. If the Sabres commit to this approach they might as well commit to not having any fans in the stands for the next few years. It’s already been 10 years of missing the playoffs which ties a league record. It would be different if it hadn’t been so long. I think they actually want to be competitive sooner than that. Trading for Elvis would also mean a contract extension for him I’m sure. I don’t know why they would ever make that move and not make sure he’s not going anywhere. They would at least need a goaltender who can be the number one guy until Luukkonen is ready to take it on. Columbus could be a team in on Jack Eichel, and I think Elvis is a guy they would at least think about asking for if that were the case.
