Hot take: if I'm Toronto management, I'm not touching that deal. I'd rather have Matthews/Tavares at centre and Marner on the wing then McDavid/Tavares at centre with Matthews on the wing. I'd prefer guys that can play a full 200ft game and play with some physicality. McDavid hasn't shown that in his career.
