Description
Why everybody wants to sign Hamilton for more $$ and longer term is beyond me, when Barrie did a great job this year QB the PP and being a solid partner for Darnell, he'll be cheaper command less term and already has chemistry..
Reason I believe Koskinen gets bought out is because they'll likely bring in a younger FA goalie and keep Smith, or have Stalock(a very dependable backup) for all those hoping Koskinen gets picked up at the expansion-he won't there are already too many better goalies, with better resumes for both Regular Season and Playoffs that Seattle will likely go with ex: Holtby and Khudobin..
If Caleb Doesn't get picked in the Expansion Draft, I would look to package Neal and Bear with a mid range pick for a low pick to free up the Neal cap space. Not indicative of Bears play this season/playoffs but mainly as an Asset they can afford to lose, younger RHD who is relatively cheap-to be replace with Bouchard...
Highly doubt Ullmark signs for double his current deal($2.6m) as he hasn't put together a full season start to finish yet, however with his last season and a bit of play on a god awful team, that maybe he signs for a year or 2 more with less Cap Hit(well worth the gamble for Edmonton)..
With Hamilton possibly on the move and needing somebody on the right side-should Bear not be paired with Neal for expansion purposes, this could be a nice get, still frees up Bouchard's spot and acquires a very solid 2-way young up and coming C/RW with a swapping of picks..
Feel like there could be some appetite for Klefbom too should he not be happy with a reduced role, because Nurse is their guy going forward, but for now keep him in teh 2nd pairing and first PK with Larsson. But in a perfect world maybe package him and Yamamoto for a game changing top 6 forward..
If you can't package Neal for expansion you can always hold on to him and bury the $1m+ with Turris deal in the Minors and wait for next offseason to buy him out should he show no progress to get to where he was last season, would take 2 full years off the buyout term, but also not opposed to buying him out this year to free up an additional $3.83m should the right F free agent or trade come along...

Coleman will probably take 4+ to sign. You should target a solid backup for Ullmark. Re-signing Smith for one more year could be good. Getting Bernier for 2 years to do a 1A, 1B tandem could be good too.

This doesn’t fix anything. That second line is atrocious, and still a lack of depth. Adding young AHLers to the bottom 6 doesn’t solve anything. Keeping McDrai together permenently is not an option for a contending team.

You must not have watched any of Geekie's games in Carolina.. He's instantly better than Yamamoto, and Coleman is a very solid 2way player who can play up in the lineup if need be... I agree still not the strongest of 2nd lines, which is why I would suggest a Klefbom+ Yamamoto deal for a legit Top 6 player....
